Family-Favorite Ice Cream Icon Gets “Friendly” with Burger King

The first “Friendly’s Scoop” location set to serve up ice cream treats at local Burger King restaurant

Wilbraham, MA (Grassroots Newswire) December 28, 2011 – Friendly’s, whose family-oriented, full-service restaurants are famous for their delicious ice cream desserts and treats, announces a new concept – Friendly’s Scoop Shop! The new Friendly’s Scoop Shop concept will make the company’s iconic ice cream treats, including milk shakes, Fribbles®, Friend-z’s®, ice cream cones, and ice cream sundaes. The first of the new Friendly’s Scoop locations will be in the Burger King restaurant located at Cooks Landing in Jackson, N.J., on West County Line Road and Cooks Bridge Road,  opening on December 28, 2011.

The new Friendly’s Scoop Shop and Burger King are owned by Georgetowne Ventures in Freehold, NJ.  Joe Anghelone, Managing Owner, said, “We’re proud to be the first Burger King restaurant to welcome a Friendly’s Scoop Shop.  As a franchisee of both Burger King and Friendly’s, we are using the brands together to maximize the efficiencies of the building.  The world-class ice cream treats that Friendly’s Scoop offers will give Jackson area families – loyal clients and new friends – another reason to visit our restaurant.”

Friendly’s plans to roll out at least one other Friendly’s Scoop in 2012 with its Burger King host restaurant. Customers will be able to choose from a wide variety of ice cream flavors and toppings to enjoy on-the-spot, or take home familiar Friendly’s frozen treats like cup cakes, 40-ounce ice-cream cakes, and Sundae To-Go® cups. The Friendly’s Scoop location will feature white tile and bright colors, including brightly colored wall menus.
